You Are the One who's Responsible!

Writer's picture: Andrew WielawskiAndrew Wielawski

So you've walked by this crumbling stairway for years on your way to work. Maybe you've glanced at it with disgust, shaking your head and muttering, ..."someday, someone's going to break a leg on that..." It's a town office, perhaps a place you've even had to go to, had to walk up those crumbling steps, carefully eying where you put your feet.

It isn't your responsibility, you say. Someone 'in charge' should take care of it. Yet it's a part of your life, and forms an essential part of the squalor you're living in. It should be important to you. Rest assured, the people 'in charge' know about it, but other things in the mundane life of office workers take precedence.

Perhaps you have forgotten a simple concept of being a citizen of any town, city, county or State. The people 'in charge' work for you. You are their boss. And if you're too lazy to let your employees know when they're not doing their job as they should, you'll be the one responsible when someone finally does break a leg, or worse.
